The First Indian National Recruitment Conclave was convened at the Leela Palace Hotel in Bangalore in late February. The robust state of both the profession and the burgeoning Indian economy was evidenced by a large and enthusiastic audience.
The United Kingdom's Christopher Mill, co-founder of Penrhyn International, the 14 firm global consortium, was hosted by Penrhyn's Indian representative Nirmit Parekh. Mr. Parekh is Managing Director and CEO of Mumbai - based 3P CONSULTANTS, one of India's leading search firms.
Addressing a key session, Mill commented that the massive outsourcing of services in India by many international companies was now being followed by significant search efforts by Indian firms to find international executives for both domestic and foreign locations.
Further, he observed a transition from the initial transactional phase where the recruiter was viewed as a vendor. “Today, as Indian companies seek to hire management talent in the global marketplace, they must turn to search consultants with the bandwidth to be true consulting partners capable of navigating the challenges and complexities of cross-cultural hiring.”
